A special thank you from Janice Walker, Director, Project SAVE

Dear Friends,

March 25, 2010, Chico, CA -- I just wanted to say a hearty THANK YOU for all the efforts you gave yesterday in getting things from the Enloe/Cohasset site to our warehouse. We had such a great group of helpers! Many hands made for quick, efficient loading. I was telling Dave about all we did and he could not believe we did it all in 2 hours.

Thank you, Mike, for letting us use your truck, and a special thanks to Bob and Reuben for driving and returning the truck back to you. A special thanks to Tom Wilder from Chico State for getting students to join us from the SIFE group as well. They were great help. God is so good in providing such dedicated workers to help in our little project (which is sometimes not so little anymore!). I never cease to marvel at the way He provides for us, both is supplies and workers.

Sometimes I don't have time when we are doing these things to share about what I know we are getting, so will take a minute to do so now.

  1. There was a machine to do eye surgery--that will go to Medical Missions International. They have at least 5 centers that do nothing but eye surgery, and send out surgical mission teams all over the world.

  2. Dr. Geelhoed asked for a pulse oxymeter--there was one and all the attachments that I will mail to him as well as a patient monitor he needed.

  3. There were two microscopes--we were asked for one in the high Himalayan Mountains of India along with many other technical things, and one for the long awaited Burkina Faso shipment.

  4. The birthing bed is desperately needed in Tanzania. (We will have to get a mattress made, but that can be done locally). We will also send them a warming light, and a bilirubin light.
  5. Bob Trausch wants at least two or 3 of the hospital beds for Belize.

  6. Cardiostart will be shipping the heart/lung machine, and the treadmill which we did not have room to get to one of their hospitals.

  7. Many of the walker and braces will go in the Haiti shipment.

  8. Enloe graciously gave us many oto/opthalmoscopes (ear/eye) which can be gradually placed with many of our shipments. Every clinic and hospital asks for these. We will send one to Nicaragua with the UC Davis med students.

  9. The prized incubator! Wow--it is always a treasure to get these, and I will choose very carefully a large, needy hospital to send this one to.

These are just SOME of the places that will benefit from your work yesterday. Please know that your life and the time you gave just blessed many... by helping gather these much needed supplies.

I so greatly appreciate each of you and all that you do. Project SAVE is so grateful to Enloe and their commitment to bless others with their excess. Thank you Bob, Marvin and Dana for your help in gathering these items for us to donate to needy nations.

Many blessing to each of you!

Janice Walker
