One of the many inspirational stories we are happy to
share from our Project S.A.V.E. family
Several ladies from Grace
Brethern Church in Chico, CA, were carrying supplies to
an orphanage the church sponsors in Zambia called "Seeds of Hope." Many suitcases of medical supplies,
clothing and toys were packed and taken.
In order to take a
wheelchair along, one woman was assign to "ride" in the
wheelchair the entire time. This allowed the ladies to
take it on the plane without being charged.
The wheelchair was donated to Project SAVE from
Dale Grismore, a
gentleman with ALS, who has been a wonderful donor to
Project SAVE for several years.
After arriving safely in Zambia, the ladies had a
thrilling experience. One day, two young boys came in
carrying their father. He was a widower who had lost his
leg in a mining accident. The boys came seeking help for their father, a
man with 11 children who was desperately trying to keep his family
together.
Imagine the delight it
was for everyone involved to be able to give this family
Dale's wheelchair! The boys no longer had to carry their
father - he now had some sense of independence and hope
for a brighter future.
Thank you, Dale, for all you have given to Project SAVE.
Your generosity has reached around the world!
